SAN DIEGO / LOS ANGELES, CA – June 22, 2021 – IDW, a subsidiary of IDW Media Holdings (OTCPINK: IDWM), announced today that after its first and second quarter successes of 2021, including 11 Eisner Award nominations and the record-breaking comic book phenomenon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, they’ve powered up their editorial staff with two new hires and an executive editor promotion. IDW Publishing (IDWP) onboards Heather Antos as Editor, Jazmine Joyner as Associate Editor, and Erika Turner is elevated to Executive Editor.

“I am thrilled to welcome two new members to our editorial staff who bring a variety of experiences to the table,” says Nachie Marsham, IDW Publisher. “We are always seeking new, fresh voices as we build out our list, and Heather and Jazmine are wonderful additions to the team.”

As an IDWP Editor, Antos will be responsible for overseeing the Star Wars Adventures and Marvel Action lines, in addition to other exciting projects.

“Joining IDW’s editorial team and continuing to work in the industry that I love is so exciting,” says Antos. “Ever since I was little, I’ve loved creating comics, (my mother would happily attest to this), so having the opportunity to work on both licensed and Original titles with IDW is something I couldn’t be happier about!”

Prior to joining IDWP, Antos served as Editor at Image Comics and Valiant Entertainment where she worked on multiple Hugo, Harvey, Eisner, and GLAAD-nominated and award-winning books. Before that, she served as the first woman Editor-in-Chief in eSports at Unikrn. She also helped launch Marvel’s 2015 line of Star Wars comics and co-created The Unbelievable Gwenpool.

Joyner signs on as Associate Editor at IDWP where they will oversee the Marvel Action line as well as focusing on Middle Grade Original Graphic Novels.

“I have always been passionate about comics and the publishing industry in general,” says Joyner. “Reading and writing have always been a passion of mine, so I am elated to be joining the IDW Publishing team and be a part of sharing their amazing titles with readers everywhere.”

Joyner previously served as an Assistant Editor at Megascope & Surely Books. Before that, they were a comics journalist focusing on disability activism within comics and comic-relevant spaces. Ahead of working as a Comics Journalist and Associate Editor, Joyner was the first Black Woman on the West Coast to open a comic shop.

IDW also made an internal promotion, naming IDWP Senior Editor of Original Content, Turner, as Executive Editor, Originals. As Executive Editor, Turner will take a lead role in acquiring and developing new YA and middle grade titles.

Before joining the IDW team, Turner served as the Senior Editor at Versify, an imprint of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and prior to that, she held the Editorial Project Manager position within the same company where she focused on the development and acquisition of owned IP primarily in the category of kids, middle grade and YA. She initially joined IDWP as the Senior Editor of Original Content, focusing on the company’s development and acquisition of original IP.
